Australian Journalist Tries Chole Bhature And Desi Twitter Is Thrilled

It is a moment of pride for every Indian when our cuisine gets global recognition. From chef-author Nigella Lawson to US Vice President Kamala Harris, actor-producer Mindy Kaling and even television show host Padma Lakshmi; many well-known personalities have expressed their love for the cuisine. Recently, American chef Rick Bayless too whipped up a lavish Indian dinner for his son-in-law’s birthday. The photos of the delicious Butter Chicken, Saag and Parathas had garnered immense appreciation from Indians. And now, Desi Twitter is thrilled to see a picture of Australian sports journalist Chloe Amanda-Bailey feasting on yummy Chole Bhature. Take a look:

Chloe Amanda-Bailey shared a photograph from a restaurant, seated with a plate of some divine Chole Bhature. One of the favourite street food items of India, Chole Bhature is a puffed up bread served with a flavourful chickpeas curry. The Bhature that the sports journalist devoured had a smooth texture and were served with a side of onion rings and pickle.

The tweet by Chloe Amanda-Bailey received over 25k likes and 1.3k retweets within a couple of hours of being shared. Desi Twitter users loved to see one of their favourite personalities trying the delicious Indian dish. The phrases ‘Chloe’ and ‘Chole’ soon began to trend on Indian Twitter as well.

This is not the first instance that the Australian sports journalist has expressed her love for all things Indian. She regularly shares tweets and posts rooting for the Indian cricket team, including players such as Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni. Her popularity with cricket-loving Indians even got them fondly calling her ‘Bhabhi’ or ‘sister-in-law’.
