Chocolate and potato chips are one of those food items that barely have any haters. A delectable bar of chocolate and a salty packet of chips are the perfect sleepover, movie night, study session or just a typical midnight craving sort of snack. So why not pair the two? As we mentioned earlier, it is not as crazy as it sounds.
There was a time when these chocolate-covered potato chips have actually been sold in the market by various brands. They still are, but why splurge on something that can be made just as easily at home! All you need is, you guessed it right – Chocolate and some potato chips.
Ingredients:
1 Packet high-quality milk chocolate
1 Packet of your favourite potato chips
Method:
Start off by chopping and melting your chocolate bar in a double broiler or microwave. You can even use some good quality chocolate chips in place of a bar if you want to avoid any chopping. Dark, milk or white, any chocolate works!
Keep stirring to avoid any lumps and stop when you are left with a silky-smooth mixture. Make sure you cool it till it is just warm to touch.
Now, take your potato chips, one at a time and dip them in the melted chocolate. You can use tongs for this step but ensure that you immediately rest it on parchment paper and do not drip any chocolate on it.
Repeat this step till you reach your desired quantity and let the chocolate harden naturally. You can even stick it in the fridge to fasten the process.
If you are planning on serving these to guests, you can make them visually more pleasing by dipping half and half in white and milk chocolate, or just dip half of a potato chip in chocolate and leave the rest as is. Your bowl full of chocolate-covered potato chips is sure to raise a few eyebrows but as it turns out, sweet and salty is a fantastic pairing.
