Passenger Vehicle Registrations Rise 4% In November, Says Industry Body

Passenger vehicle registrations in the country rose 4.17 per cent In November, the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) said on Tuesday. However, overall vehicle registrations across segments were at 18,27,990 vehicles last month, marking a drop of 19.29 per cent compared with the corresponding period a year ago. With the festive season now over, heavy rains in certain parts of the country leading to crop damage and pent-up demand almost negligible, a demand revival now solely depends on exciting year-end schemes, the industry body said in a statement.

While commercial vehicle registrations dropped 31.22 per cent last month, two- and three-wheeler registrations slumped 21.40 per cent and 64.98 per cent respectively, according to FADA data.

Tractors registered an 8.47 per cent gain in registrations in November, the dealers’ body said.

However, overall vehicle registrations across segments decreased 4.74 per cent during the 42-day festive period, owing to a fall in registrations of commercial vehicles, and two- and three-wheelers, the industry body said.
