The quintessential Vada Pav has lent itself to many different variations since the time it was invented. From Samosa Pav to Ice Cream Vada Pav, some interesting and unique innovations had been doing the rounds on the internet. Shared on Twitter by @iSudatta, the photo showed a screengrab from a food delivery app that read ‘Croissant Vada Pav – 2 pcs’. The vegetarian dish in the frame featured two Croissants which were sliced apart from the middle and used in place of the Pav buns. A smashed Aloo Bonda was smeared inside the Croissant along with spicy peanut powder. There was fresh mint chutney alongside the dish, as well as onion rings, a lemon slice, and two green chillies on top.
The tweet garnered hundreds of likes, comments and shares on the micro-blogging platform. The Croissant Vada Pav divided Twitterati, who were confused about the bizarre fusion dish.
