West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday said she was a ‘Gadha’ (donkey) for not getting the hint that the ‘Gaddar’ (Suvendu Adhikari) minted crores of money while holding the top positions of co-operative banks and various state government boards.

Addressing a rally at South Contai in East Midnapore, Banerjee said, “Gaddar der onek poisa…ami onek boro gadha..ami neje ke gadha bolchhi…tara eto taka korechhey…keo amay bolchhilo Rs 5000 crore taka korechhey. (Gaddar minted lot of money…I am a big donkey…I am calling myself donkey because I didn’t get a hint that they minted crores of money…someone was telling me that they made nearly Rs 5000 crores.”

Escalating her attack on the TMC turncoat, she said, “It’s time to free Midnapore from their misrule. I worked hard for the people in Midnapore and the traitor took all the credits. They removed my name from Digha gate and replaced it with theirs. In this Assembly poll, give the traitor a befitting reply. He cheated the people of Midnapore.”

The chief minister also warned of goons hired by the saffron party to scare people into voting for BJP, “The traitor has hired goons with his money power. He will use goons to disturb you during polling day. Don’t scared of them and fearlessly vote for TMC. It’s time to bowled out the traitor,” she said.

Referring to the Unnao case, she slammed accusations of law and order situation in West Bengal. “BJP is accusing that the law and order situation in Bengal is worst. I would like to ask him what about Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Haryana. Why is he not saying a word about the law and order situation in these states? We all know what happened to Unnao but unfortunately, there is no word from Home Minister Amit Shah.”

Three girls were found unconscious, while two of them were declared brought dead at the district hospital, the third was found in critical condition in Uttar Pradesh’s Baburaha village. “What a shame? Daughters are being raped and burnt alive in Uttar Pradesh and outsider BJP leaders are giving a big lecture in Bengal,” she said.

Accusing the BJP of indulging in divisive politics, the TMC supremo said, “People are coming from other states and creating problems. They don’t even know the culture of Bengal. They know how to play with blood and now they are here to play their dirty politics.”

“We have to unite against these evil forces. They came to Bengal to divide us. You voted for BJP (in 2019, Lok Sabha) and they cheated you. They gave you nothing. We are giving you free ration and the BJP government at the Centre is increasing the price of LPG,” she added.
