Amla is very good for immunity
Come winters and we are surrounded by ascorbic amlas. These tiny, light green berries are a potent package of antioxidants, chief of which is vitamin C. It is said that amla contains twenty times more vitamin C than oranges. Vitamin C could help fight disease-causing free radicals and rev up our immunity naturally. In these times, there is hardly anything that is more precious to us than our health and immunity – and it is never a bad idea to lean on local, seasonal foods for apt nutrition.
This delish amla chutney recipe was posted on the YouTube Channel ‘Cook With Parul’. To make this wash amlas, and cut them roughly, deseed them. Take a kadhai and heat oil on medium flame. Add mustard seeds, hing, methi dana, urad dal, chana dal, curry leaves, dried red chillies. Sautee everything, and add green chillies. Add amla and mix on low flame. Now add the turmeric, cumin seeds and salt. Close the lid, cook till soft.
Take a grinding jar, add the mix and blend. If you want a sweet tinge you can also add some gud or jaggery. The step is optional. Blend until you get chutney of desired consistency and serve. You can store this chutney for whole year in the freezer with the help of an ice tray.
