Despite all its shortcomings, Delhi is a sight to behold sometimes. Steeped in history, some of the Delhi’s monuments can still make you stop, sit and wonder. One such major tourist destination that is also becoming quite a rage among foodies is Qutub Minar. Why foodies you ask? That’s because of the sudden outburst all ‘cool’ restaurants in the vicinity. Dramz, Mehrauli has quite a few bigwigs around to compete with, but the outpour of diners soon after its comeback post lockdown, is proof that it has built a loyal fan-base that is here to stay. We reviewed Dramz recently, and here are our thoughts.

The terrace cafe; overlooking the majestic Qutub Minar serves up a range of Italian, European, Indian and Mexican delights. While most of the menu is crammed with usual suspects that you can find across all big restaurants of the city, some of the dishes are genuinely original and innovative. We started with the tirupitas the soft cheese fritters came wrapped in filo sheets and were bursting with cheddar cheese, artisanal black peppers and jalapeno peppers. Another mild dish with just the right tinge of hotness would be the oven baked champignon mushrooms. Hollowed out exotic mushrooms stuffed eclectic duxell (fine mixture of mushrooms), covered with gana Padano cream. A must-try for all mushroom lovers. The crispy Hong Kong Spring rolls are evenly served and served with oriental sweet and chilli sauce that makes for a wholesome treat. The stir-fried chicken also impress with their crispy and delicious texture and flavour. The Chicken shish touk is well done, the smoked paprika flavour is understated but effective, we wish the pita bread that were served with it were thinner. The dish also comes with two kinds of hummus, chickpea and beetroot. The margherita pizza is a tad underwhelming too.

In desserts, we tried two signature specials. The dense chocolate cake which is a haven for all chocolate lovers, you would find everything chocolate ice cream, sauce and cake in this generous portion. The second dessert is a quirky new addition to the menu, ‘sand and pebbles’. The pebbles, made with chocolate come with liquid fillings of different flavours like mint, the sand is made with fine crumble of biscuits- together they work wonders.
