Holi 2021 is right around the corner, and with it comes the urge to binge on all things sweet and sugary! From Gujiyas dipped in chashni to some refreshing Thandai, Indian festivals are all about delicious food. The pandemic may have brought a halt to our Holi celebrations, however, that shouldn’t stop us from bingeing on some gorgeous festive treats! Actor Genelia D’Souza took to Instagram to share an amazing fusion dessert that she devoured ahead of the Holi festival. Wondering what it is? Take a look:

Genelia D’Souza took to Instagram to share a photo of a delicious Thandai cheesecake. “Amazingggg,” she wrote in the caption of the picture shared on Instagram stories. The delectable sweet treat Genelia D’Souza ate was completely vegan, as she is a strong proponent of the vegan diet. In fact, she and her husband Riteish Deshmukh even have their own plant-based meat initiative.

The yummy Thandai cheesecake was made with an Indian flavour with elements such as pistachios, almonds and rose petals. “An almond flour base with a layer of thandai cheesecake topped with pistachios and rose petals to complement the Indian touch to the fusion dessert,” reads the official description of the cake created by Paleoo Bakes.

What a great way to blend Indian festive tastes with a drool-worthy dessert! Thandai cheesecake truly seems like a modern-meets-traditional dessert that would be a hit with all age groups. We would love to see more of Genelia D’Souza’s food diaries from the upcoming Holi festival.
