A Bengali couple creates a social media buzz for their unique wedding menu.
Weddings in the post-Covid era are becoming quite creative and unique. Many couples are opting for small family gatherings and intimate ceremonies rather than a lavish one. Virtual weddings are now commonplace, with near and dear ones joining in the celebrations through the online medium. The digital revolution has truly transformed weddings in 2021! A couple from West Bengali recently found themselves in the news for their interesting and unique wedding menu, which was inspired by the design of an Aadhaar card. The images have been widely shared by social media users. Take a look at the viral picture here:
“Subarna weds Gogol,” reads the wedding menu card, declaring the names of the couple right on top. It then lists a number of delicious starters which would be served at the ceremony, such as a chicken lollipop, fried prawns, crispy baby corn and coffee.
The Aadhaar-inspired menu then proceeds to elaborate on the main course items which instantly made us drool. There was a Peas Kachuri, stuffed potatoes, fried fish, and Mutton Kasha along with fried rice. The accompaniments included salad, Kasundi (Bengali mustard sauce), Chatni and Papad. The menu also featured some delicious desserts such as Sandesh, Rosogulla and Ice Cream. There was also some Paan to wash it all down. In place of the Aadhaar number, the digits read the wedding date of the couple, which was 1st February 2021. The menu also mentioned the name of the caterer in the Aadhaar card’s address section.

The Aadhaar-card inspired wedding menu featured a number of delicious Bengali dishes.
The intriguing wedding menu designed like an Aadhaar card got full marks for creativity by Twitterati. Users got into a spate of excitement on seeing the unique menu, commenting on how the couple was truly the epitome of the Digital India movement. “The PM, CMs and old people will surely get shocked seeing this,” commented one user while another posted a Pan-card inspired wedding menu. Several others wondered if Aadhaar card was compulsory for guests to enter the venue.
