Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has attacked the Samajwadi Party chief and former Chief Minister of the state Akhilesh Yadav, saying that the socialists of today are the ‘Behrupiya Brand’ of the old socialists. “Some are Pragatisheel socialists while some are dynasty socialists,” said CM Yogi Adityanath, however he did not directly name Akhilesh Yadav. UP CM was speaking at the Rising Uttar Pradesh program by news18 in Lucknow on Wednesday.
Speaking as the Chief Guest on the occasion, he said, “Socialists like Ram Manohar Lohia, Acharya Narendra Dev and Chandreshekhar were the real socialists, while these people who call themselves as socialists are the Behrupiya brand. Dr Ram Manohar Lohia always used to say that true socialists should not run after property and children, but you can see the situation today.”
Answering a question on the statement of Akhilesh Yadav on what the current regime has done, the CM said, “Other parties have their manifesto, ours was resolution letter. The resolution letter has been put on the ground and the work that is left will be completed soon.”
Adityanath also responded to the allegation of Akhilesh Yadav in which he said that the quality of expressway is being compromised by the BJP government and people’s safety is not being taken care of in the process of making a cheap expressway. On this charge, Adityanath said, “The road is being constructed without any compromise at a lower cost than the expressway built by the Samajwadi government. Also, not just the cost has come down but also now the expressway is being 10 meter wide.”
