Opposition Creates Ruckus Over Farm Bills In Punjab Assembly
Ruckus was created by the opposition parties as the budget session of the Punjab assembly began on Monday.
The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) members stormed around the house raising slogans against the Governor. Ahead of the Governor’s address to kickstart the budget session, Akali MLAs led by Bikram Majithia raised slogans of ‘go back Governor’ over the three farms laws. The opposition members raised slogans questioning the governor for not sending the amendments passed by the Punjab vidhan sabha to the central farm bills for Presidential nod.
The Akalis were later joined by the Aam Admi Party (AAP) legislators who too raised slogans against the Governor. Earlier, the AAP legislators cycled their way to the Punjab assembly as a symbolic protest against the Centre for fuel hike. The Congress on its part too hit the street, protesting against the Governor.
The party MLAs Ruckus was created by the opposition parties as the budget session of the Punjab assembly began on Monday. Outside, the streets of Chandigarh turned into a rallying ground for not just the opposition but even the ruling Congress party.
The party MLAs plan to raise slogans against the Governor and gherao him over rising prices of petrol and LPG. The assembly will resume after 2 pm.
