Her posts on Instagram often reveal the foodie side of Mouni. In May, she had put up a post where she was seen relishing spaghetti. The dish appeared to be a spicy one as we could spot a red chili. The spaghetti seemed to be cooked in a spicy black pepper and cream sauce. See how it looked here.
Before that, in another video, Mouni was seen relishing a chocolate ice cream cone and we could totally relate to it. Read about it here.
Contrary to popular belief, spicy food can be beneficial to health. Spices such as cinnamon, turmeric, garlic, ginger, and cumin, as well as chili, host many health benefits – such as increased longevity and metabolism. Curcumin, a compound found in turmeric, reduces inflammation in the body. Ginger and garlic, too, have anti-inflammatory properties.
Take for example chicken manchurian. This dish has loads of ginger and garlic and other spices. Fried chicken balls are cooked in a spicy sauce batter and onions. A traditional Chinese dish, it can be easily cooked at home.
Similarly, paneer manchurian, too, is a delight for your taste buds. The Indo-Chinese dish is a rage across streets. However, thanks to the lockdown we can’t step out. So, why not rustle up this dish at home? Both chicken and paneer manchurian can be served with simple steamed rice, hakka noodles, or fried rice.
You can try several variations with fried rice as well — egg and garlic fried rice, vegetable fried rice, or the popular Indonesian Nasi Goreng. It’s the Balinese rendition of chicken fried rice. Chicken, cabbage, carrots, bok choy, kaffir lime leaves, Balinese red paste give this dish a unique flavour.
The kaffir lime leaves emit an intense citrus fragrance and are known to detoxify the blood, promote good oral health and stimulate the digestive system.
