Amit Shah Says BJP Will Win More than 200 Seats in Bengal
Highlighting BJP’s ‘Sonar Bangla’ vision and TMC’s ‘misrule’, Union Home Minister Amit Shah attacks CM Mamata Banerjee’s ‘desperate attempt’ to make her ‘bhaipo’ (nephew Abhishek Banerjee) the next chief minister and urged people to help them in bringing ‘good governance’ in the State.
“BJP under the leadership of PM Modi can only ensure good governance in Bengal. Our target is to ensure good governance and development in West Bengal and on the other side Didi (Mamata) is busy in ‘bhatija kalyan’ (nephew’s rise). In this election, we are going to win more than 200 seats. There will be a double engine government in West Bengal,” Shah said while addressing a public rally in East Midnapore’s Egra.
While elaborating BJP’s roadmap for Bengal and plans to set up ‘Machhuara Samman Nidhi Yojana’, the union minister said, “After forming the government in Bengal, I would like to assure my fishermen brothers that we will set up ‘Machhuara Samman Nidhi Yojana’ on the lines of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana for the welfare of nearly 4 lakhs fishermen in Bengal. Under the scheme nearly 4 lakhs fishermen will get Rs 6,000 annual subsidy and this will be done keeping the fishermen produce organisations in the loop.”
Amit Shah also attacked his opponent on corruption and law and order situation. “TMC goons indulged in corrupt practices and deprived poor people from basic amenities. They killed 130 BJP workers. I would like to assure that we will set up a high level inquiry team to send them behind bars who siphoned funds meant for poor people and those who killed our party workers,” he said.
Shah slammed the TMC government for its 10 years of misrule in the State and accused her of blocking the Central government’s schemes in the state.
“She is depriving the poor of their rights. Didi is not implementing the central schemes including ‘Ayushman Bharat’ in Bengal. Several crores of people across India have availed free surgeries under Ayushman Bharat. But I am sorry to say that didi has not implemented the scheme in Bengal. Mamata ji don’t you think people of Bengal have the right to avail this free and quality treatment? Why are you not implementing it?” Shah asked.
“I would like to assure the people of Bengal that within minutes of forming the government in 2021, we will implement Ayushman Bharat health scheme in our first cabinet meeting. There will be ‘asol parivartan’ (real change) in Bengal under Modi ji’s leadership,” he added.
He said that BJP in its manifesto will implement the 7th Pay Commission and salary hike of teachers. Shah accused TMC for indulging in ‘appeasement politics’ and blamed Mamata Banerjee for illegal infiltration in Bengal for her vote bank politics.
“It is unfortunate that in Bengal people don’t celebrate Durga Puja and Saraswati puja freely. Therefore, vote for us and we will ensure Durga Puja and Saraswati puja celebration in Bengal. Also, I would like to ensure that we will free Bengal from illegal infiltration in the next five years after forming the government in the State,” Shah said.
