Cyclone Tauktae: The airport has been shut till 2 pm and the Bandra-Worli sea link is closed.

Mumbai and its neighbouring areas today experienced high-speed winds and heavy rains as the “very severe cyclonic storm” Tauktae headed towards Gujarat, uprooting trees and disrupting local train services.
Movement of vehicles on Mumbai’s iconic Bandra-Worli sea link has been suspended in light of cyclone Tauktae — which intensified into an ‘extremely severe cyclonic storm’ early this morning and people were asked to take alternate routes.
Bandra-Worli sea link has been closed due to the high-speed winds.
Mumbai, set to escape the worst of the storm, experienced light rainfall and gusty winds early Monday.
