Maruti Suzuki, the country’s largest carmaker reported total sales of 1.59 lakh or 1,59,691 units in April 2021, which includes domestic sales of 1,37,151 units, and exports of 17,237 units. According to a regulatory filing by the company to the BSE on Saturday, May 1, Maruti Suzuki registered a sharp recovery in sales as against the corresponding month last year when the country was under the first phase of lockdown to battle the COVID-19 pandemic. On Friday, April 30, shares of Maruti Suzuki settled 1.65 per cent lower at Rs 6,459.80 apiece on the BSE. On the NSE, its shares settled 1.94 per cent lower at Rs 6,438.35 apiece on Friday.
